As reported by Courtney Carpenter on TechCareers.com, the National Association of Computer Consultant Businesses (NACCB) monthly IT Employment Index report for June showed IT employment reaching an all-time high of 3,907,800. Additionally, IT has grown by almost 90,000 jobs compared to the overall employment market that has lost 438,000 jobs.
"In light of deteriorating conditions in the general employment market, I am heartened by the continued resilience of IT employment," commented Mark Roberts, CEO of NACCB.

Vice President of Strategy and Marketing for Yoh, Jim Lanzalotto says "This data shows wages have started to level out a bit. Although wages were down in the first quarter, they've held steady in the second. We've also experienced a slight increase at the end of the second quarter which we'll be monitoring to see if it is the start of wages trending upwards again through the second half of the year. While we may not be seeing robust growth, we're also not experiencing the black hole others have predicted."
