Foreign-born U.S. IT Grads - Green Card Fixes Coming?

An excellent article on ComputerWorld by By Patrick Thibodeau lays it all out...

Although the H1B Visa issues creep along without resolution, 3 new bills have been introduced in the House that aim to help ease the difficulty foreign nationals working in the U.S. experience when trying to obtain permanent residency.

Fixing the permanent residency, or green card employment-based, visa program has been a top legislative goal of high-tech industry proponents, on par with their efforts to raise the H-1B cap.

HR 6039 will exempt graduates of U.S. universities with advanced degrees in science and tech — the so called STEM degrees (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) — from the annual 140,000 limit on these permanent residency visas.
