Philadelphia's Creative Industry Tops in Nation
According to a report put together by Innovation Philadelphia, "CREATIVE FOOT PRINT - THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF THE PHILADELPHIA REGION ’S
FOR - PROFIT CREATIVE ECONOMY", the Philadelphia region is tops in earnings and second only to Boston in number of jobs attributable to the for-profit creative industries. Creative industry employment within the Philadelphia Region generated a total economic impact of nearly $60 billion, ranking the for-profit, creative industry among one of the top industries in the region. The creative-industry sectors cited in the report include architecture, engineering and planning; communications and marketing; digital media and programming; fashion design; graphic and visual arts; information technology; music, film and video production; photography; and software development.
